The Buccaneers continue to fill out their staff for the upcoming season. They’ve already promoted Josh Grizzard to offensive coordinator and also hired Kefense Hynson as their pass game coordinator.
Now they have started to fill out some of the holes on the defensive staff and it is a notable name coming to Tampa Bay as former Texas head coach Charlie Strong will be joining the Bucs as their defensive line coach.
Strong replaces Kacy Rodgers, who departed Tampa Bay for a job with the Detroit Lions. Strong, 64 has a long history of coaching and has had multiple stops as a head coach in the college ranks.
He has been a head coach at the university of Louisville, the university of Texas and the university of South Florida. Strong brings a lot of experience to the Bucs, but has not coached in the NFL since 2021 when he was the assistant head coach and insider linebackers coach for the Jaguars.
A pretty big hire for Todd Bowles’ staff as they look to improve the defensive side of the football this offseason.
