Some of the best things in life are difficult to define. Especially when it comes to feelings, but nothing quite does a better job of putting emotions into words like music can.
Enter our soulful, bluesy, gritty, groovy, yet impossible to label, Louisiana crooner, Marc Broussard.
With over 20 years of albums and touring under his belt, thousands of dedicated fans, and an impressive list of celebrity collaborations, Broussard is set to begin touring in support of his latest 10 track studio album, “Time is a Thief.”
“I feel like I created the best album of my career.” Marc excitedly proclaims when asked about what this new album means to him.
If you personally have yet to have the pleasure of experiencing Broussards unique blend of bluesy soul now is your opportunity. The tour will begin at The Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on January 22, and will make a stop at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL on January 23rd. The run will hit 33 cities and commences March 22 on Oklahoma City, OK.
April finds Broussard in Australia for the first time for 2 shows, much to the delight of the throngs of Aussies who’ve been impatiently awaiting their chance to catch what is always an incredible live performance.
Marc’s first album, simply titled ‘Carencro,’ named for the Luisiana Parish in which he was born and raised, has been a long standing fan favorite since its release.
The 20 year anniversary tour finished up last year, where the album was performed in full, and also included a few new tracks thrown in for good measure.
With the success of that tour behind him, Broussard is excited to go on the road with the new album at the helm.
“We spent the entirety of 2024 supporting my debut album, ‘Carencro,’ so we played that album top to bottom. So I got a little exhausted be quite honest. Trying to keep up with my 20 year old self vocally was not an easy task. And it was very taxing. I’m really looking forward to playing the new album, which is more suited to my 42 year old voice.”
Upon the completion of this tour, including the 2 bonus Australia dates, there won’t be much rest for Broussard who will soon step back into the studio with friend, and guitar virtuoso, Joe Bonnamassa. This powerhouse collaboration will be followed with a full tour to support the album.
In addition there’s talk of a Teddy Swims collab and a follow up children’s book to Broussards first release “I Love you More,” which is currently still for sale (pick one up at the merch booth!) Proceeds of the book, as well as Marc’s cover albums supporting the SOS Foundation, founded by Broussard, supports children’s hospitals throughout Louisiana as well as disaster relief. Look for an upcoming third SOS album this year as well.
With all this excitement on the horizon, Broussard sums it up best as it’s time to pack and get on the road, “Just make sure you bring your dancing shoes!
Marc Broussard will be performing at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL on January 23, along with Paul Thorn. Tickets are still available. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, please click here.
