It was just announced today that WJRR’s Earthday Birthday, which normally is held in April and has been a very
popular music festival in the area, will not be taking place in 2025. Due to out of control costs with booking the
music talent and putting on the festival, WJRR made a decision that it was not going to be feasible to host the
event and be able to offer their listeners an event at a reasonable price. So they made the difficult decision to not
host Earthday Birthday this year.
As of right now, WJRR is still planning on hosting the event in the future, possibly in 2026, but the official announcement
regarding this is still to be decided.
Now the question remains, will 98Rock Fest take place.
As most people in Central Florida knows, 98Rock and WJRR are both iHeart Radio Stations, and always scheduled both of
their events the same weekend so they could split alot of the costs of bringing the talent to Florida, thus making it a little more
affordable to produce the events. But with WJRR cancelling plans to host Earthday Birthday this year, it seems almost impossible
to think that 98Rock Fest will take place this year as well.
Only time will tell, but as of this moment, no announcement has been made regarding the event taking place or any artists that
might be coming to the area to perform at the event.
