Metal legend KERRY KING’s first North American headline tour stops in St. Petersburg February 11

Following a recent tour with Lamb of God and Mastodon, the one-and-only metal legend Kerry King is heading out on his first North American headline tour in January and February along with his band – drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), bassist Kyle Sanders (HELLYEAH), guitarist Phil Demmel (Machine Head) and vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel). The tour will make a stop at Jannus Live on February 11th.

The tour is in support of King’s solo debut album, From Hell I Rise. In wide praise for the album, Kerrang! has said, “The phrase ‘metal as f**k’ may never be better applied” and Metal Hammer declared, “If you’re a fan of Slayer, you’ll love From Hell I Rise. It’s brutal and never lets up. Kerry King has delivered a meisterwork.” The album also racked up some great accolades on year-end best of lists:
•  Rolling Stone named From Hell I Rise one of the “100 Best Albums of 2024” – the ONLY metal album on the list
•  Loudwire named “Idle Hands” one of its “67 Best Rock + Metal Songs of 2024” AND From Hell I Rise one of the “Best Hard Rock Albums of 2024”
•  Heavy Consequence named From Hell I Rise one of its 30 Best Metal & Hard Rock Albums of 2024 calling it, “A total firestorm that silences anyone who dared doubt the legendary Kerry King”
 • Metal Contraband 2024 Year End Chart’s placed Kerry King/From Hell I Rise at the #4 spot with 1574 spins
For decades, Kerry has been the unmistakable guitar slinger in thrash metal gods Slayer. Though the band played the last date of their Final World Tour at the L.A. Forum back on November 30, 2019, ever since, KFK’s been writing music and figuring out how to do the one thing he loves the most – getting back out on the road and playing live. While COVID enforced a two-year “pause” on making that happen, King took advantage of the situation and wrote – a lot. His music and lyrics have been very intentional with song topics covering war (in particular, the Ukraine war that broke out in February 2022), women’s rights, and current American politics. Plus, there’s doomy stuff, punky stuff, spooky stuff, and definitely some of those Herculean speeds he’s known for playing. Kerry enlisted some of the heaviest names in metal for his new band and they’re taking the show on the road for this anticipated run.
