The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on Feb. 2nd, but the Recording Academy will honor multiple artists at the Special Merit Awards Ceremony the day before.

The honorees announced on Friday also include Frankie Beverly, The Clash, Dr. Bobby Jones, Taj Mahal, Roxanne Shante and Frankie Valli.

Prince won seven Grammys during his 40-year career and three of his albums – 1999, Purple Rain and Sign o’ the Times – have been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame.

The Special Merit Awards Ceremony will be held at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles. Trustees Awards will also go to Erroll Garner, Glyn Johns, and Tania León, while the Technical GRAMMY Award honors Dr. Leo Beranek.

“It’s an amazing privilege to honor this eclectic group of music icons during the year’s biggest week in music,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement

“Each of this year’s Special Merit Award recipients has left an indelible mark on music, from paving the way for others to innovation that forever has changed the trajectory of the musical landscape,” he continued. We can’t wait to celebrate this group and their achievements in February.”
