Taylor Dayne sat down and chatted about the battle against breast cancer at Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza.
Most recently, Dayne joined forces with Wacoal and the nonprofit organization Susan G. Komen for “Fit for the Cure” in the battle against breast cancer.
A two-time Grammy-nominated pop and dance recording artist, Dayne is known for her hit singles “Tell It To My Heart,” “Love Will Lead You Back,” “Prove Your Love,” and “With Every Beat of My Heart,” among others.
After her colon cancer diagnosis last year, Dayne has become a strong voice for cancer awareness and early detection.
“I am overwhelmed, and I am also so grateful, especially when I look around,” she said. “We are in Rockefeller Center and Rockefeller Plaza with Wacoal for ‘Fit for the Cure.’ We are saving lives and it’s incredible.”
Dayne shared that this cause is important to her for several reasons. “I’ve had my own struggles with cancer this year, and it shows me that purpose and the understanding of why we live through certain things and these challenges,” she said.
“It really gave me a platform to speak out about something that people may not be aware of,” she added.
“This cause is very important to me, especially in regard to saving lives and coming out of our own disasters… We are trying to help people fight it, in order to be cancer-free,” she acknowledged.
The theme of this benefit event was “Together Stronger.” “For me, the biggest thing I got out of this was early detection and early prevention, as well as becoming your own personal warrior and advocate,” Dayne concluded.
