Big Time Rush electrifies MidFlorida Credit Union
Amphitheatre with a dynamic live show.
On July 21, acclaimed pop group Big Time Rush headlined the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, FL, as part of their “Forever” Tour.
Big Time Rush is comprised of James Maslow, Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, and Carlos PenaVega.
They kicked off their set with the infectious “Windows Down,” and their presence was met with a raucous response. They immediately broke into “Music Sounds Better With U” and the sassy “Honey,” which they debuted for the first time, and “Love Me Again.”
“Honey” was quite timely, especially since band member Kendall Schmidt recently got engaged to longtime girlfriend Mica von Turkovich.
It was neat to hear them perform their latest singles “Not Giving You Up” and “Fall,” which was a real treat.
“This is really special. It takes some instruction, you guys got to help us out, if that’s all right,” Schmidt told the Big Apple audience. They delivered a distinct version of “Dale Pa’ Alla,” with the help of award-winning producer Maffio (who came from Miami), and they also taught everybody the dance for the song.
They took their audience on a trip down memory lane with the optimistic and catchy “Halfway There,” where Schmidt played the guitar, and equally fun was the nonchalant “Stuck.” “No Idea” and “Confetti Falling” were sheer bliss. “Everybody, go crazy, here we go,” they shouted.
They subsequently stripped things down a bit with acoustic versions of “I Know You Know,” and “Worldwide,” where they showcased their honey-rich vocals.
Big Time Rush interacted well with their dedicated fans throughout the night and they reiterated their gratitude. They closed with “Nothing Even Matters” and “If I Ruled the World,” where they leave their audience yearning for more.
Fortunately, there was more. They returned for a two-song encore that included “Big Time Rush” and “Boyfriend,” both of which were well-received, as confetti was falling from the ceiling.
“The concert was so fun, Big Time Rush put on a great performance, said Kim Stewart, age 15, fan and attendee.
