The Who Hits Back tour kicked off in Fort Lauderdale on April 22nd and brought it to Tampa at Amalie Arena on Wednesday. April 27th.

The Iconic British band brought the Florida Orchestra to enhance their already great sound. The two remaining original members of the
band are lead vocalist Roger Daltrey and guitarist/singer Pete Townshend. On drums is Zak Starkey, the son of Ringo Starr, and Pete Townshend’s younger brother Simon on rhythm guitar.

Starting the night with a crowd of a little over 7,000. They came out playing “Overture” to get the crowd on their feet. As they played most of their iconic hits that span over 50 years. Some of the fan favorites included, “Pinball Wizard,” Who Are You,” and “I Can See for Miles” to name a few that got the fans back out of their seats. Things took a turn as Daltrey was singing
the famous song, “I Can See for Miles,” as he stopped mid song to complain about the lack of sound coming from his ear monitor. Clearly frustrated they changed songs to “Naked Eye.” As a fan near the front of the stage kept yelling for them to play a song, Townshend lashed out and said, “We don’t do requests but I love you. You paid for my Ferrari.”

There was some frustration between Daltrey and Townshend as they argued back and forth, but were able to get back on track and finish the night. It was definitely not their best show moments, however, the fans seem to appreciate hearing the songs that made this band legendary.
