Journey: Freedom Tour 2022 with very special guest Toto, and Toto was certainly very special! Toto has been around since the 1970’s and still fans of all ages enjoy their musical talent and their multiple hit songs.
Opening for Journey at Amalie Arena, Toto got the crowd rocking with some of their big hits like, “Rosanna,” “I’ll Be Over You,” and “Africa.” They sounded amazing and was quite a treat for the fans. They came out playing, “Orphan” from Toto XIV and even performed a flawless Beatles cover “With a Little Help from My Friends. They definitely complimented well opening for Journey. This was a tour to see and we are only at the openers!
As Journey hit the stage, the crowd went erupt and the fans were out of their seats as Arnel started singing, “Only the Young.” Arnel who had replaced Steve Perry some 15 years ago energized the already excited fans with his high energy jumps and his uncanny sound, so similar to Perry that you almost believe that’s it’s him. And although the departure of Perry was devasting for many die hard fasn the band has managed to overcome several obstacles. And Arnel has managed to step up and perform almost seamlessly the iconic songs that we all love and he is able to hit the high notes that Journey songs are made of. Neal Schon guitarist and one of the founding members of the Journey also shined on stage and captivated the audiece throughout the night with his impressive guitar playing and has a very profound presence on stage that you can’t help but watch him.
Journey took the fans back in time with so many of their greatest hits like “Don’t Stop Believin’,”Open Arms,”Faithfully,”Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) and ending the night with “Any Way You Want It.” It was definitely
a great night and a trip down memory road for most of the concert attendees.
This is a tour you don’t want to miss and don’t be late so you don’t miss these Legendary bands.
