Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias brought their co-headlining tour to the Amway Center on October 30, 2021. The arena was just buzzing in an electric atmosphere from beginning to end. Latin-pop sensations, Martin and Iglesias, were joined by singer/song writer Sebastian Yatra for this show which was rescheduled from the original date of October 29, 2020. As the fans shuffled in and found their seats, on stage a DJ played music and tried to whip up the crowd ahead of the start of the show.

After the DJ was removed there was an extended delay, but then the Las Vegas style show started with Ricky Martin making a grand entrance down a stairway in the middle of the stage. The production was awe sticking as dancers with feathered fans flanked Ricky as he descended to the stage amidst an illuminating light show. The roar of the crowd was almost deafening as the show started with the 1999 mega hit “Livin’ La Vida Loca.”

“The King of Latin Pop,” who’s career expands over 37 years lived up to his reputation and delivered an extraordinary performance. If you weren’t a fan before the show, you walked away with a greater respect for the artist that just delivered a professional and entertaining show from start to finish.

Next up was the nights headliner, Enrique Iglesias. Although the production was just as spectacular, but the show wasn’t at the level of entertainment Ricky Martin’s set displayed. Iglesias has 27 #1 singles on the Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart, as well as multiple Grammys, making him the greatest of All- Latin artists.

The issue of Iglesias’ performance was the crowd wasn’t in their seats at the start and were walking in the isles causing a distraction. I am not sure if they were late arrivals or were just coming down from the concourse to their seats, but they were an obstruction and not a good addition to the show.

The finale of all three artists Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, and Sebastian Yatra on stage was a highlight of the evening. I get why Ricky Martin wasn’t the headliner because the Co-Headliner format rotates from night to night, but I my opinion Ricky Martin’s performance was superior, and I was glad to have witnessed it for the first time.
