Gwen Stefani releases her new single, “Slow Clap” today Thursday (March 11th). This is Stefani’s first release this year. This reggae inspired song is what you would expect from her signature ska-pop sound.

“I’ll be your David, you Goliath / Set the rule and I’ll defy it /You’ll be angry, I’ll be quiet / You’ll be purple, I’m the violet / Take a ride cause I’m the co-pilot / I’m the ice cream, you just be dyin’ / Be the captain, I’ll be the pirate / You’ll be Billy the Kid and I’ll be Wyatt.” These are some of the lyrics to this upbeat and catchy song co-written by singer Ross Golan and producer Luke Niccoli, whom also she had teamed up with on her “Let Me Reintroduce Myself single.

Stefani’s singles, “Slow Clap” and “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” are expected to appear on her upcoming fourth full-length studio album, which has not yet been announced.
