Garth Brooks brought his Dive Bar Tour to The Barn in Sanford, Florida, on Wednesday, October 16. The only way fans got to see this show was to win tickets from local radio stations.
What a great performance he put on! He opened the show performing his song, “All Day Long.” He sang song after song of his hits, both old and new including, “Rodeo,” “Two of a Kind, Workin’ on a Full House,” “Two Piña Coladas,” “The River,” “Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up), “That Summer,” “The Thunder Rolls,” “Callin’ Baton Rouge,” “Dive Bar,” “Friends in Low Places,” as well as one of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s hit songs, “Fishin’ in the Dark.” Garth closed out the show performing one of his biggest hits, “The Dance.”
He encouraged audience participation throughout the concert by having the audience sing parts of his songs without him.
He introduced his band members, many of whom have been with him from the beginning. This was Garth’s third visit to The Barn. He made mention throughout the night that he first played The Barn in May of 1989. He started his career by playing in honky tonks. He stated, “I love the honky tonk atmosphere, which is totally different from playing in stadiums.”
If you get a chance to see Garth’s Dive Bar Tour, don’t miss it. It is well worth your while.
