The Foo Fighters brought the house down in front of a sold-out crowd of 19,500 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Wednesday night. Showing the capacity crowd how to rock! From the moment they stormed the stage, Dave Grohl and company had the crowd jumping. It starting with their first song, “Run,” and the band never looked back. The future Rock and Roll Hall of Famers showed how your supposed to pick on a great rock show.
The Foo Fighters played a 22-song set which included songs like “Learn to Fly,” “The Pretender,” “My Hero,” “Breakout,” Monkey Wrench, “Dirty Water,” “Under Pressure” (Queen Cover), “Under My Wheels” (Alice Cooper Cover), “This Is A Call,” and closing out the show with Everlong.” Dave Grohl sprinted from side to side and everywhere in between, showing everyone what we have been missing since they the last time they performed in Tampa in over 13 years ago. Definitely a long time considering they have been touring almost every year throughout other parts of the country. But the Foo Fighters made sure they didn’t disappoint anyone in the audience.
Dave Grohl throughout the night kept saying they were going to play all night long. “It’s been a long-ass time, hasn’t it?” Grohl said. “Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you, we got some making up to do tonight.” And make up for it they did as the Foo Fighters performed for more than 2 hours and 45 minutes, keeping the crowd roaring at a fever pitch as they rolled through there massive collection of songs.
Grohl said, “We got too many f—ing songs.” He said. “Here’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna play as long as we can until they kick us off the f—ing stage.” Even deciding not to do an “encore” so they could perform as many songs as possible for the die hard fans in the audience.
Hopefully Florida won’t have to wait another 13 years to see these legendary rockers return to the sunshine state. If you missed this one, you missed out on one heck of a show!
