It was a great night of music on Wednesday night, April 18, as Bon Jovi brought their “This House Is Not For Sale” Tour to the Amway Center in Orlando to an electrified, sold out show.
One of the great things about this tour is that Bon Jovi has been selecting a local artist from each tour stop area to open for the group. This is a great opportunity for local bands to get to play in front of thousands of fans, and for them to showcase their talents. This tour stop, Kings County from the Orlando area was the lucky one selected. These guys really took advantage of the opportunity showcasing their talents in front of the energetic crowd.
After their performance, you could feel the buzz of excitement starting to build as it was time for Bon Jovi to take to the stage. Bon Jovi has been performing for a long time and they know how to get the crowd jumping. Their show started with a video projected on to the curtain where they were showing them driving through the streets of Orlando, showing many of the local sites in Orlando, until they arrived at the Amway Center.
Once the video finished, the curtain when up and Bon Jovi opened the show with their song, “This House Is Not For Sale,” which is the title of their tour and latest album. Bon Jovi performed a strong 21 song set, which included all their hits from their amazing catalog of songs. The sold out crowd stood for most of the night, dancing throughout the isles for the 2-plus hour performance that left the audience wanting more.
I have seen Bon Jovi perform many times throughout their career, and the one thing I can always say is, they never disappoint! This show was no different. Jon Bon Jovi is a seasoned veteran who knows how to entertain a crowd.
Bon Jovi did a tremendous job of mixing their setlist with good selection of new and old songs. Performing songs like, “You Give Love A Bad Name,” “Lost Highway,” “Born To Be My Baby,” “It’s My Life,” “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” “Lay Your Hands On Me,” “Keep The Faith,” “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead,” and “Bad Medicine.”
One of the memorable moments of the night was when Jon Bon Jovi came into the crowd to a small platform in the audience and performed his ballets, “Amen” and “Bed Of Roses,” while also allowing him to greet the very excited fans that surrounded the platform. Jon made several heartfelt gestures to the crowd thanking them for their support.
As if Bon Jovi didn’t give their fans enough entertainment for the night with their great set, they saved some of their best songs for last. After a brief encore, Bon Jovi returned to the stage to perform “Runaway,” an acoustic version of “Wanted Dead or Alive” with Jon Bon Jovi and 20,000 of his closest fans. Then closing out the night with their mega-hit “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
Bon Jovi’s performance continues to show why they were so deserving of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They bring it every show, and giving the fans everything they have. If you missed this amazing show, you missed a great one!
