Fresh off the boat from the Monsters of Rock cruise, The Iron Maidens stormed the stage at the State Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL. The all-female Iron Maiden tribute band finally brought their full stage show to St. Petersburg on Saturday night. We have long heard about the Iron Maidens, but as far as I am aware, Florida had never been fortunate enough to experience the Iron Maidens in concert. This was a dream for all the Iron Maiden fans looking to experience more of their favorites Maiden tunes.
The band comprised of Kirsten ’Bruce Chickinson’ Rosenberg (vocals), Linda ‘Nikki McBurrain’ McDonald (drums), Nikki ‘Davina Murray’ Stringfield (Guitar), Courtney ‘Adriana Smith’ Cox (Guitar) and Wanda ’Steph Harris’ Ortiz (Bass) are from Los Angeles and are the world’s number one, all female, Iron Maiden tribute band and cover all of the eras of Iron Maiden.
The Iron Maidens opened the show performing Aces High, followed by 2 Minutes to Midnight. They had the near capacity crowd on their feet through out the night performing songs like The Number of the Beast, Wasted Years, The Trooper, and Children of the Damned. After a brief encore, the Maidens performed Iron Maiden and closed the show with Running Free. Kirsten’s vocals were awesome and her vocal range was incredible. The tremendous guitar playing of Nikki and Courtney really complimented each other and they sounded like a well-oiled machine. Just like Iron Maiden, the Maidens featured their own cast of characters which periodically came on stage and joined the show. They really had a great sense of showmanship and made the night very enjoyable.
If you missed this incredible performance, I’m not sure when you might have the chance to see this band coming through Florida again. I only hope it isn’t very long before they mark their return to the sunshine state. If this show makes its’ way to a city near you, make sure you don’t miss it! You will definitely enjoy it!
